To know we have a God who hears us
Who is present in the battle
Who sees us in the darkest night
A God who cares
Who does not demand massive sacrifices in order to show favor--
Thank You Lord
My God who seeks me out, who chases after me...
O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth, I will cry to You for help,
for my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety, for You are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in Your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of Your wings!
It is to this God we pray.
We pray for our soldiers, the ones around us we see everyday:
the baby-faced gate guard
the toughened drill sergeant
the wizened general
the sniper
the tank driver
the special operator
the medic
the chaplain assistant
We pray today for the soldiers we know by name: _______________
And for the ranks of those we don't know.
Thank you for these people who have bravely stepped up.
We pray for safety
for direction
for wise missions
for success in those missions
Mostly, we pray that all their experiences would bring them closer to You.
Be with our warriors
in the belly of the massive ships
to the heart of the planes in the heights
the soldiers in the operating bases in Afghanistan
the sergeants teaching in Iraq.
Lord be their towering rock of safety, their safe refuge. Please keep them far from the enemies of despair, self-hatred, depression, crippling fear, anger.
For You have heard my vows, O God.
You have given me an inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name.
Add many years to the life of the king! May his years span the generations! May he reign under God's protection forever. Appoint Your unfailing love and faithfulness to watch over him.
Then I will always sing praises to Your name as I fulfill my vows day after day.
Thank You Lord
for amazing technology
for sufficient supplies
for good training
for strong wills
Thank You for the inheritance of a nation that bears Your Name. For Your Glory we ask for continued success. Don't let us fall to people who only know the sword, who perpetuate lies of false gods.
Please continue to protect this country where people are free to worship You.
